What I Hate about my school. A sentence.
The bathrooms, wait what bathrooms? There is only 1 bathroom(1 for the girls/1 for the boys){I think there might be another couple in the middle school section, but I really don't know} The boys bathroom is a huge room filled with urinuals. The ONLY reason I know this is cause the door is wide open all the time and Windows from ceiling to HIP cover the wall facing the school grounds hang-out break section. Only the girl's bathroom is really not that much better. Same windows, but we have full door stalls and no soap, cold water and ONE toilet paper dispenser! The whole day we are at school you can never use a functioning washroom because only the teachers get one and I know this because The Only For Teachers sign was broken off the washroom's door. Someone should give the school some toilet paper "Halloween Style". I mean all over the school and if someone from the school really does it on Halloween, I am not responisble!!!

One Month in Belgium

At about 1:00AM on the 23rd of August I arrived in Belgium. It now has been a month, that flew so fast! I never got around to taking photos of the town and school yet. On Saturday the kids and I went to Scouts and Guides. No, I am not to old. And yes I will have to wear a uniform(when I get mine). We went to a town about 20 minutes away for the day. I joined the other girls my age and we did a whole bunch of activities. At the end of the day we walked to a Church and had Church. I had to carry a little girl on my back for one of the activities up a hill and back again. Strange game! lol and now my back is sore, I guess she wasn't so little. It was a nice Sunny hot day on Saturday. At the castle below there was a wedding going on. The trees are enormous here. It is really beautiful and amazing. I had a fun time, but I think I got a little heat stroke again from all the sun. I was so tired at the end of the day. I hope it is beautiful in Canada...

Hello! I have been busy with school work every night this past week. I HAVE been trying to do math I was never taught and I have been making Perogies. Well technically I did that last weekend, but here are some pics...

We made about 8 dozen. The reason I made them (and I don't usually make them) is because they didn't know what perogies were. So I shared some ukrainian perogies with them! I am never making them again and they are not the same as Grandma makes them. (Not the same ingredients and recipe)

First Day of School

The first day of school was the most confusing day of my life! I am going to have to work it to get through these first couple of months of school. Christmas will come soon and I (hopefully) will be better at French and finding my way around the school. They have a swimming pool in the school! I don't know if I like that.

Orientation Week

This week I went from the arrive family’s house to Liège where the orientation. The place we stayed in was a youth hostel. All the kids or should I say teens that came to Belgium where there from all around the world. *Sorry mom Liege isn’t in the Dutch speaking part… We slept 5 to a room on bunk beds. The mattresses and pillows were made of rubber. Gross... The food was ok there and we review a lot of rules. Met some new people and Hunter, Luc, Taiyo and I hung out. After supper at a restaurant we all went to a bar… the legal drinking age is 16… I was the youngest exchange student. I didn’t anything, ok? After on Sunday the host families came to pick up their kids and listen to a two hour orientation, so we (the exchange students and leaders) went to a bar that was very strange. There was Barbies and dolls other things on the colourful walls. Boring… When I got to my host family house it was strange for me and I didn’t understand any French. French teachers don’t teach you anything! I understand more French now. I hope, and I really like my host family, they are right for me. My bedroom is really big compared to my room in Canada! School is going to be hard because I will not understand and I don’t know if I have a place in it yet. I pray I do and that I can also get some of my credits transferred next year because I don’t want to do the year again. Here are some pictures.
